Sometimes it feels easier to begin therapy from the familiarity of your own space. Whether you’re balancing work, caring responsibilities, chronic illness, or simply feel more comfortable at home, online therapy offers a way to receive meaningful support without needing to travel.
I work with both adults and young people throughout the UK using secure video sessions.
Many people wonder this. The therapeutic relationship is at the heart of therapy and this can develop just as it can in person. Research has also shown that online therapy is as effective as in person therapy.
You often put everyone else’s needs before your own.
You feel disconnected from yourself.
You struggle to express your needs.
Relationships feel exhausting or confusing.
You carry anxiety, shame or self-doubt.
Beginning therapy from a familiar environment can sometimes make those first conversations feel a little less daunting. Rather than focusing on getting somewhere new, you can begin from a place that already feels known to you.
Meeting from home creates enough safety to begin exploring parts of themselves they’ve kept hidden. Without the pressure of travelling to an unfamiliar place, it can feel easier to slow down, notice what’s happening inside, and begin speaking about experiences that have been difficult to put into words.
My approach remains relational, trauma-informed and collaborative, whether we meet online or in person. Together we’ll move at a pace that feels safe, paying attention not only to your thoughts, but also to your emotional and bodily experience.
Is online therapy as effective as in person therapy?
Yes, online therapy is as effective as in person therapy.
Do I need previous experience of therapy?
No, you do not need any experience of therapy. All you need is access to the internet and a confidential space where you can speak safely.
What if I don’t know where to start?
I will explain each step of the process. You can read more about what to expect from therapy here. If you have any other questions about online therapy or starting therapy, please email me.
Can I switch to in-person sessions later?
If you are close to Eastbourne, East Sussex, this would be certainly be an option. This is depending on in person session availability.
If you’re wondering whether online therapy feels like the right fit, you’re welcome to get in touch. We can arrange an initial conversation to explore what you’re looking for and whether working together feels right for you.
