Does any of this feel familiar?

You may be carrying more than others realise.

You struggle to express your needs.
Staying quiet, over-explaining, or putting others first can feel safer than risking conflict.
You feel different or highly sensitive.
You may notice strong emotional or sensory responses and wonder why life feels more intense for you.
You wonder if you are neurodivergent.
You may be questioning whether ADHD, autism, or other forms of neurodivergence help explain your experiences.
You constantly overthink conversations.
Replaying interactions or worrying what others think can be exhausting.
Relationships feel draining.
You may feel unheard, responsible for others, or anxious about conflict.
You shut down during a conflict.
You might freeze, go blank, or feel overwhelmed when emotions run high.
You feel disconnected from yourself.
You may struggle to recognise your needs, feelings, or sense of direction.
You carry guilt or self-criticism.
You hold yourself to high standards while feeling exhausted underneath.

Many of these experiences develop as ways of adapting to difficult, overwhelming, or emotionally demanding circumstances. Trauma-informed, relational therapy offers a compassionate space to understand these patterns and begin creating change.

What is trauma-informed therapy?

Trauma-informed therapy recognises that:

• past experiences shape present responses

• the body carries stress as well as the mind

• healing happens through safety, connection and understanding

Hi, I am Eefje.

counselling and psychotherapy for adults, young people and children.

I see therapy as more than talking about problems. It can be a space to understand yourself more deeply, reconnect with parts of yourself that may have been overlooked, and make sense of experiences that can feel confusing or overwhelming.

As an integrative psychotherapist, I tailor therapy to the person in front of me. Alongside conversation, I may incorporate creativity and body awareness when words alone don’t quite capture what is going on.

Sometimes life can feel like a tangled mess. Together, we can begin to join the dots.

Through therapy you can…

understand yourself.

Make sense of patterns, emotions and experiences with greater clarity.

reconnect with yourself.

Develop a stronger connection to your needs, feelings, and values.

move forward differently.

Create lasting changes that feel meaningful and sustainable.
