If you are wondering what therapy might look like, here’s what you can expect when we work together:
The first sessions.
In the first session we will take some time to get to know each other and I might ask questions to gather more information about you and the reason for seeking support. We will take time to build our relationship. We will take time exploring your goals and your needs. Everything that you bring is welcome – we will build a space that feels safe and where you can be truly heard. You will be treated with respect and confidentiality.
The journey
Depending on your goals and needs we will set out a plan to work on together. Some people need short-term work, others prefer long-term therapy. It depends on what brings you to therapy. We will have regular check in conversations to make sure therapy continues to meet your needs.
Collaboration
Therapy is a collaborative process of which you are at the centre. It involves being curious, reflective and deeper insight. I may provide, always with your consent, strategies, tools, creativity and exercises to help build understanding of both body and mind, to build self-compassion and confidence.
