Frequently asked question 1:

What is the difference between counselling or therapy?

What is therapy? It’s a broad umbrella term for an activity that brings about therapeutic change, relief, acceptance, or empowerment to pursue a goal. There are lots of different types of therapy, called approaches, all with the same aim of support you when you need it most.

My training has been Integrative Counselling with TA, meaning that I have the core model of transactional analysis into which I integrate other approaches. In my style of therapy, you are the lead, and I am the follower, and the key ingredient of therapy is a trusting and secure relationship between the therapist and the client.

It is within the safety of this relationship that you can discover, explore and try out your true authentic inner voice.

Frequently asked question 2:

What is my availability and how do I book?

The days that I work are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays. If you head over to the booking page you can see my exact availability and book a slot that works for you.

Frequently asked question 3:

How do I pay?

When you book via the booking page you will be presented with a payment link. Through this link you can pay for the session. My fee is £60 per session.

Frequently asked question 4:

How many sessions do I need to attend?

In order for us to start building a relationship and for counselling to work, I work with a minimum of 6 sessions commitment. After that, we can review what the work has meant for you and what your needs are in order to continue.

I will work with you for as many sessions as necessary and not one more. If it looks like you are ready to leave, I will raise this with you, and we can decide where to go next.

Equally, if you feel like therapy is not for you, or that I am not the right therapist for you, let me know and we can work out a way to get you the right support. You, my client, are at the heart of what I do.

Frequently asked question 5:

What about confidentiality?

As a therapist, I will provide a confidential environment. I will not discuss what we talk about in sessions outside of the therapy room. Unless the information divulged falls under an exception of confidentiality. I am required to attend supervision in order to ensure that you receive the best possible service. Any information the supervisor has about you will be treated in confidence.
